Winter Camp

The Deering Estate offers a winter break camp, which aligns with Miami Dade County School’s scheduled winter break. Every camp has a different theme and explores a different aspect of nature, allowing campers to have fun while also learning about different fields of science. Please bring lunch and snacks, refillable water bottle, closed-toe shoes, change of clothes, sunblock and bug spray, and hat and sunglasses.

Ages: 6 to 14

Time: 8AM- 4PM (pickup by 5pm). Daily drop off & pickup are located at the Visitor Center.

Cost: $135 per three-day session. Space is limited!

Session I: “Winter Adventures”
Three-day session, Monday, Thursday & Friday, December 23, 26 & 27, 2024
Winter Adventures offers an exciting outdoor experience for campers to explore the wonders of nature in South Florida’s mild winter season. From birdwatching and wildlife tracking to hands-on eco-crafts like building bird feeders, campers will discover the beauty of local ecosystems while learning about conservation.

Session II: “Ridge Runners”
Three-day session, Monday, Thursday & Friday, December 30, 2024, January 2 & 3, 2025
Set against the backdrop of South Florida’s unique landscapes, campers will hike, study natural rock formations, and learn how the earth has shaped our world over millions of years. Ridge Runners offers an exciting winter adventure for curious minds eager to explore the science beneath their feet!

Refund Policy:
Refunds must be requested no less than five (5) business days before the camp week the camper is registered for. Request must be made in writing and sent to [email protected]. If for some reason a child needs to withdraw from or cannot attend a session they have been registered for within five (5) days, a credit will be issued, which may be applied towards any Deering Estate camp program without expiration.
