This summer, guests will have a new opportunity to become citizen scientists. Deering Estate is home to several rare species of butterflies. Guests will explore various habitats in search of the Ruddy Daggerwing, Dina Yellow, & Atala as well as the nearly 40 species of butterflies that are onsite. Join us on a guided tour though their favorite spots on the Estate. Guests are encouraged to document their flora & fauna findings on the iNaturalist app. (Available on Google Play and App Store).

Butterfly Walks are held seasonally on the 4th Saturday of the month, June – September, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Cost: $15 per adult (ages 15+), $7 per youth (ages 4-14). General Admission can be purchased onsite on the day of your visit. Free for Deering Estate Foundation Members.

All guests, including Deering Estate Foundation Members, are required to sign-up at the Main Gate before the tour begins in order to ensure their space. Space is very limited capacity, and will be filled on a first-come, first- serve basis.

Mosquitos are very common, please come prepared.
