Womens History Month Concert

This special concert celebrates the vibrant and soulful sounds of Latin American women composers and performers, showcasing diverse musical styles. Contemporary ballads, passionate and romantic boleros, traditional folk and more.. Enjoy the beautiful music of Maria Teresa Vera (Cuba), Chabuca Granda (Peru), María Grever (Mexico), Violeta Parra (Chile), Mercedes Sosa (Argentina), Marta Gomez (Colombia), Maria Teresa Chacín (Venezuela), Natalia Lafourcade (Mexico) and Celia Cruz (Cuba) among others. Whether you’re a fan of Latin American music or simply looking for a memorable musical experience, this concert is not to be missed. You’ll be immersed in a celebration of culture, diversity, and the incredible contributions of women in music. Women’s History Month concert features Susana Behar (voice), Michel Gonzalez (guitar, cuatro), Michael Font (percussions), Miguel Gomez (double bass), and Juanito Marquez (flugelhorn, trumpet, and trombone).
This event will take place on Sunday, March 19, 3 pm, at the Deering Estate Visitor Center theater.

Parking & Directions: Free parking is available in the Visitor Center parking lot located on SW 168 Street just west of 72nd Avenue. The event will be held indoors in the Visitor Center Theater.
