Moonlight Kayak Tour

Depart from the Deering Estate’s boat basin after dark while learning about its unique ecology from a Deering Estate naturalist. Paddle beneath the glow of the full moon as you make your way to Chicken Key, a seven-acre mangrove island and active bird rookery located approximately one mile offshore.

Upon arriving for your event please meet our staff at the Visitor Center.

Cost: $50 per person. Spaces are limited! Ticket price includes general admission to the Estate during regular Estate hours (10AM to 4PM) the same day of your program.

Age Requirements: This program is open to adults (18+) and youth ages 9–17 accompanied by a registered parent or guardian. Registration for participants ages 9–17 must be completed by phone by calling 305-235-1668 ext. 233 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Registration for adults (18+) is available online through Park Link.

Know Before You Go: Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for paddling that can get wet. Please bring water, snacks, and insect repellent. Mosquitoes and other insects are common, so we encourage you to come prepared. This program is recommended for intermediate paddlers. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

Please meet at the Visitor Center and arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled program start time. Tours begin promptly as scheduled. Late arrivals will be considered no-shows and will not be permitted to participate. Refunds, transfers, or credits will NOT be issued for missed programs.
