Yesica Gispert is a multidisciplinary artist exploring Caribbean identity, mythology, and mysticism, layering personal and collective histories in her work to investigate the boundaries between reality and the unseen. Gispert earned an MFA from NYU Steinhardt in 2012 and a postgraduate degree in Media Art from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in 2020. She is currently a Visiting Associate Professor in Photography at Florida International University. Her work has been exhibited globally, with solo shows at Tunnel Projects Miami (2024), Emerson Dorsch Gallery (2023), Mélange Gallery in Cologne (2021) and Dortmunder Kunstverein in Germany (2015). Selected group exhibitions include the A.I.R. Biennial in Brooklyn, NY (2025) and Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass Incarceration at MoMA PS1 (2020). She has received Art in Public Places commissions and awards such as three Miami Individual Artist Grants, an Ellies Creator Award and Coral & Cathers Award.
