Thank you for your interest in the Deering Estate at Cutler as the setting for your souvenir snapshots, personal portraits/scenic photography, and commercial still photography and film shoots. The following are the photographic options available at the Deering Estate at Cutler:

Souvenir Snapshots
Visitors to the Deering Estate at Cutler are welcome to take souvenir snapshots or souvenir videos on the main grounds and inside of the house for personal use. Flash photography and videography with lights are, however, not permitted inside of the historic houses - Stone House, Richmond Cottage, Carriage House, Power House and Pump House - for the benefit of other visitors and to protect our sensitive collections.

Personal Portraits and Scenic Photography
Personal Portraits and Scenic Photography photo shoot permits are available for individuals who wish to use the Deering Estate at Cutler as the setting for scenic photography, fine art photography* and personal portraits, including quinceañeras, couples, or others celebrating a special time.

*Note: Photographers using the Estate as the subject for scenic or fine art photography are required to credit all work that is exhibited or reproduced elsewhere, as such: “The Deering Estate at Cutler.” Additionally, all work that is created or reproduced while on the Estate or using Estate images shall not be for commercial use, and can only be made available for private exhibit or private sale.

Personal Portraits and Scenic Photography photo shoots are allowed daily between 10am and 5pm and must be purchased at the Main Gate between 10am and 4pm. Photo shoot permits are non-refundable. Advance reservations are not necessary however we recommend calling ahead for information on daily park activities.

The fee is $60 plus 7% sales tax and provides admission for up to 4 people, including the photographer and subject. Any additional guest must pay the regular admission rate.

No reservations are required for personal portraits and scenic photography photo shoots, however we do recommend calling ahead for information on daily park activities. Permit fees are non-refundable. Permits may be purchased at the Main Gate or Ticket Office upon arrival.

Personal Portraits and Scenic Photography Photo Shoot Permit Rules

Commercial Still Photography and Filming
Commercial Still Photography and Filming Permits are by advance reservation only. An additional permit is required from the Miami Dade County Film and Entertainment Office. Permits allow commercial still photography and filming outside of the historic houses only between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Still Photo Fee: $800 plus 7% sales tax per day.
Filming Fee: $2,000 each additional hour before 8:00 am and after 6:00 pm is $200.

Certificate of Insurance for Public Liability Insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage is required. The Deering Estate at Cutler, 16701 SW 72 Avenue, Miami, Florida 33157, must be named as additionally insured. Please fax this documentation to 305-254-5866.

Major film and television shoots are approved on a case-by-case basis after submitting detailed request in writing. Permit fees are non-refundable and must be paid upon arrival of the crew.
