Since 2009, the Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence program has welcomed visual, literary, performing, and multidisciplinary artists to create works and engage the public. As seen in our Residency alumni, the program has been a catalyst for artistic practice and recognition, including additional residencies, national and local grants, gallery representation, collection acquisitions, and community engagement.
Studio Residencies and Non-Studio Project Residencies, lasting from two to twelve months, are available and are competitively-selected through a jury process. The Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence program applications are available online, and are due each year on June 30. The residency year is from October to September.
